Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Ruth Moss

   Ruth E. Moss, 78, of Sage Township, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 22 at her home following a long illness. She was born in Detroit on Aug. 27, 1927 to Donald and Pearl (Height) Nichols. She worked for several years as a clerk-cashier for Karps Pharmacy and also K-Mart Stores. She married George Moss and he survives. Ruth was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Gladwin Aerie 3292 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary #11256 of Gladwin. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

   Surviving in addition to her husband George are two sons, Donald Roberts of Bahamma, North Carolina, and Michael (Cathy) Nicholson of Novi; five daughters, Donna Sherbutte of Gladwin, Barbara (Charles) Goodin of Gladwin, Frances (Richard) Moses of Reno, Nevada, Michelle Nicholson of Wheatland, California, and Patricia Nicholson of Akron, Ohio; and a half-brother, Scott Nichols of Sunnyvale, California. She was preceded in death by a son, John Roberts, and a brother, Clyde Nichols, as well as her parents.

   Funeral services will be held at Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Reed Schroer officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Ruth’s name may consider the Alzheimers Association.
