Robert Mills

   Robert R. Mills, 82, of Englewood, Florida died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.Robert was born June 4, 1924 in Flint to Ralph and Elizabeth Mills.

   He graduated from Flint Central High School and was a veteran of WWII.

   Robert married Joyce A. Meade on March 22, 1946 in Flint.

   He retired from Buick after 30 years of service and became a permanent resident of Gladwin County. He previously resided in Flint.

   After Joyce retired they wintered in Florida, where she predeceased him Nov. 28, 1988.

   He was a member of the Clare VFW Post #5738.

   Robert married Doris Seekircher on Oct. 30, 1990. He enjoyed his family and many friends, playing poker and cribbage often.

   Surviving Robert are his wife, Doris; two sons, Michael (Bonnie) of Columbiaville, and Craig (Kathy) of Gladwin; three stepsons, William (Jeannie) Seekircher, John (Penny) Seekircher and Robert Seekircher, all of New York; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia (Richard) Dorrance and Betty Walsh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Lori Earle; and brothers, Russell and James.

   Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2006 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church in Swartz Creek.
