Arthur H. Merritt

ILLNESS FATAL TO ARTHUR MERRITT

   Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home for Arthur H. Merritt, 60, of Wiggins Lake. He died at Veteran's Hospital, Saginaw, Wednesday following an illness of one year. The Rev. Henry C. Hall officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Merritt was born March 4, 1899 in Jackson. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the 125th Infantry. He had been a Gladwin County resident for 38 years operating a lake resort.

   He is survived by his wife, Alice; a son, Arthur H. Jr., of Gladwin; two sisters, Mrs. O.W. Youngs, of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Wiedman, of Owosso; and a brother John, of Gladwin.
