Leonard J. Merrick

L. J. MERRICK

   Leonard J. (L.J.) Merrick, 49, of Gladwin, died suddenly at his home at 220 Grout Street Friday, July 14. A life-tim resident of Gladwin, he was born here February 23, 1923, the son of the late Leonard J. Merrick and Thelma Merrick. Following service in World War II, he went to work at Dow Chemical Company in Midland and was a die conditioner at the time of his death. Mr. Merrick and the former Marjorie Conjonte, of Rogers City, were married February 15, 1947, at Rogers City.

   Survivors are his wife, Marjorie; his mother, Mrs. Thelma Kaiser of Gladwin; three daughters, Mrs. Cynthia DeGo of Newberry, Mrs. Candace Hetherington of Gladwin, and Miss Connie Merrick of Ann Arbor; two sons, James Lee and Brian, both at home; and a sister, Mrs. Ivan Lawyer of Florida.

   Services were held Monday at 11;00 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with Fr. Edward Trombley officiating, and burial was in Highland Cemetery.
