Walter Meister
Walter H. Meister, age 86, of Gladwin passed away Monday, June 5 at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home.
Walt was born July 27, 1919 in Gladwin to the late Julius and Theophilia (Redman) Meister. He married the former Florence Rumminger on June 24, 1944 in Detroit.
Walt worked as an electrician for Milt Alward and was co-owner of Cashway Plumbing. He lived in Gladwin all his life and for years was an active member of the Gladwin Lions Club and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Florence; two sons, James (Diana) Meister of Morristown, Tennessee, and Ronald (Ellen) Meister of Sault Ste. Marie; one daughter, Janet (Edward) Landskroener of Sanford; eight grandchildren, four Great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert (Lillian) Meister of Plymouth; and one sister, Clara (Ed) Betke of St. Clair Shores. He was predeceased by his brother, Clarence, one granddaughter and one grandson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday June 7 at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Rev. William Winters will officiated and burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin.
Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
