Dewey Meehan
Dewey M. Meehan, 84, of 5083 Dundas Rd., Beaverton, died Sunday, Jan.
16, in the Midland Hospital Center after an illness of three months. Born in Jay County,
Ind., on March 18, 1898, he came to Gladwin County 30 years ago. He retired from Ford
Motor Co. after 40 years as a machine setter. Mr. Meehan was a veteran of World War I and
a member of the Dale United Methodist Church. He was a 50 year member of Doric Masonic
Lodge 362 in Richville, Ind. Mr. Meehan and the former Helen Baughn were married Oct. 2
8, 1922, in Covington, Ky.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Donald of Dearborn and David of Boston,
Mass.; one daughter, Mrs. Billie (Gloria) Creath of Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Maude
Sipe of Portland, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Dale United Methodist Church. The
Rev. Bruce Hatch officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge
of the Hall Funeral Home.
