Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
William McNeil

   William W. McNeil, 42, of 525 Elk St., Gladwin, died suddenly Monday, Jan. 23, in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Houghton Lake, Jan. 7, 1947, he came to Gladwin County in 1975, from Pontiac. Mr. McNeil was employed by the Gladwin City Department of Public Works for 14 years. He was Past Worshipful Master of the Gladwin Masonic Lodge 397 and Worthy Patron of the Gladwin Order of Eastern Stars Chapter 84. He was also a former Gladwin Rural-Urban fireman. Mr. McNeil and the former Sue Ridley were married July 15, 1967, in Gladwin.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark, at home; one daughter, Angela, at home; his mother, Mabel McNeil of Houghton Lake; his in-laws, Genan and Virginia Ridley of Gladwin; one brother, Jim of Houghton Lake; 2 sisters, Charlotte Turner of Saginaw and Sarah Hogel of Cadillac; a half brother, Martin Burns of Houghton Lake; and one grandson.

   Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Joel Hurley will officiate and burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery. A Masonic and Eastern Star service will be held tonight, Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gladwin Athletic Association.
