Lewis McMahon
Lewis D. McMahon, 84, of Houghton Lake, passed away March 29, 2006 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac. Lewis was born on January 24, 1922 in Beaverton, to Lewis S. and Grace (Barkley) McMahon. He was married June 24, 1945 in St. Augustine, Florida to Velzorra P. Spangler, who preceded Lewis in death Jan. 19, 2006. He served in the Navy during World War II. Lewis was a stockman in the General Motors Truck Plant from which he retired and moved from Pontiac to Houghton Lake in 1978.
Lewis is survived by two daughters; Judith and husband, Ronald, Fast of Waterford and Cheryl and husband, William, Bennett of Pontiac; two sons; Terry McMahon of Alabama and Rodney and wife, Denise, of Auburn Hills; nine grandchildren and seven Great-grandchildren; one brother; Donald McMahon of Sarnia, Canada; and one sister; Marjorie Riegler of Bay City.
Memorial services for Lewis D. McMahon will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday April 29, 2006 at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Kathy Murphy officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, served the family.
