Bertha McMahon
Mrs. Bertha McMahon, nee Barclay, died at the home of her husband’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George McMahon, at Arbutus, Mich., July 14, 1907, aged 19 years, 10 months, 5 days. The deceased was united in marriage to Fred McMahon July 17, 1905. Her untimely departure in the morning of Life’s golden day is an event greatly deplored and regretted. The deceased was unassuming in manner and possessed a kind, loving disposition which made her a favorite among her friends and acquaintances. Funeral took place from the Dunkard church in Tobacco township July 17, 1907, and was attended by a large concourse of people. The sermon was preached by Rev. William McKimmey, after which her remains were tenderly borne to the cemetery at Dale.
Bertha leaves a young husband, little son Lloyd, 14 months old, father, mother and four sisters, together with a large circle of acquaintances to cherish her memory. She leaves a bright evidence that she has gone to that beautiful world where no tears are shed and no goodbyes said, where the bright bow of joy spans the horizon of her unfettered soul.
