Ottamar McKimmy
Ottamar H. McKimmy, 95, of 215 S. Antler St., Gladwin, died Wednesday, March 23, 1994, at his home. He was born in Coleman on Nov. 16, 1898, and moved from Detroit to Beaverton in 1941 and then to Gladwin. He was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. Mr. McKimmy was a reactor operator for Dow Corning for 11 years until retiring Nov. 30, 1963. He worked at Champion Spark Plug in Detroit for 21 years prior to moving to Beaverton.
Mr. McKimmy and the former Frances Rich were married Aug. 8, 1928, in Beaverton. She died Nov. 26, 1972. He then married Phoebe (Burket) Ogg on Jan. 19, 1979. Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Merle of Beaverton, Doyle of Bridgeport and Donald of Bad Axe; 3 daughters, Mrs. Ed (Delores) Schnepp and Mrs. Tom (Rosalyn) Richards of Gladwin and Mrs. Ken (Sharron) Kalnback of Bridgeport; 22 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.
Services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Kenneth Golay officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. The Hall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
