Myrtle McKimmy
Myrtle Jane McKimmy, 90, of Beaverton passed away March 6, 2008 at MidMichigan Gladwin Pines following a long illness.
She was born in Amble, Michigan on Jan. 26, 1918 to John and Lavina (Bass) Keeler.
She retired as a cook for the Beaverton School District and had lived in Gladwin County most of her life, previously residing in Lakeview. She was also a member of VFW Post 7303 Ladies Auxiliary.
Myrtle married William E. McKimmy on Jan. 14, 1938 in Beaverton. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She is survived by her daughters, Jolita Warren of Midland, Marjorie (Charles) Dumanois of Manistee, and Sally (Kim) Majeske of Auburn; sons, Dirk (Grace) McKimmy of Beaverton, James W. “Billy” (Lora) McKimmy of Gladwin, Randy McKimmy of Beaverton, and Michael (Shelly) McKimmy of Beaverton; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and sister-inlaw, Margie E. Black of St. Louis, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents; three sisters, Pauline, Billie and Mary.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 14, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. at the Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton.
