Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice

   Mrs. Mary Frances "Fran" McKimmy, 91 years of Cresthaven Lane died early Wednesday morning in St. Luke's Hospital. Fran was born in Gladwin, MI coming to Toledo in the late 1920's. She was a wonderful wife and mother who dearly loved her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She was an avid bowler through-out her life until age 89. Still a member of the WIBC she met monthly with her bowling friends for lunch.

   Through the years she was involved in Girl Scouting and her family's school activities. Along with her elated husband, she was involved with the Champion Spark Plug Retirees for many years. Fran was an active and long time member of St. Theresa Church and St. Joan of Arc Parish. She is the widow of David B. McKimmy who died in October 1989. Surviving are her son, Richard (Kathy) McKimmy; and daughter, Barbara (Patrick) Connelly. The grandchildren are, Michael (Jenny), Timothy, Kelly, Patrick (Donna) McKimmy, Bridget (Rick) Perino, David (Mary Jo) Connelly, Kerry (Patrick) Streb, Mary Pat (Thomas) Siefker and Kathleen (Timothy) Hankish. The great-grandchildren are, Lauren, Nicholas, Anne, Luke, Emily, Jack, Jacob, Sierra, Erin and Abigail. She is the sister of Peggy Farrell and Helen Warner. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-9 p.m. A rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m. The funeral will begin from the mortuary Saturday, August 29 at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial in St. Joan of Arc Church at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Joan of Arc Church or the A.L.S. (Lou Gehring Disease) Foundation.
