Hurley McKimmy
HURLEY E. MCKIMMY DIE AT 72
Hurley E. McKimmy, 72, of 712 East Indian died Sunday night at Midland Hospital. He had been in ill health for some time. Born in Lenawee County, Oct. 10, 1892, Mr. McKimmy moved from there to Beaverton in 1908. From 1917 to 1937, he lived in Toledo, Ohio where he was employed as a meat butcher. He had been a Midland resident since 1937. Mr. McKimmy was employed as a butcher at Bartlett and Asch, and at one time, he operated a small grocery and meat business at East Ashman and Washington. Mr. McKimmy was a member of the First Methodist Church and of Centre Lodge No. 273, F & AM.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Iva Ruth McKimmy; two sons, Edwin Hurley McKimmy and Doyle Lynn McKimmy, both of Flushing; three grandchildren and on great grandchild; also a step son, Calvin Compo of Flint, and a step daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Lemon of Clio. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the First Methodist Church with Rev. Warren Ware officiating. Burial will be in Zion cemetery, Lenawee County. Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
