Hazel McKimmy
ILLNESS FATAL to MRS. McKIMMY
Mrs. Hazel M. McKimmy, 59, passed away at her home in Tobacco Township on Tuesday, August 11. She had been in ill health for several years. Funeral services will be held from the Beaverton Church of the Brethren on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Ernest Johnsen will officiate and burial will be in the Dale cemetery. Mrs. McKimmy will be at the Hall Funeral Home until noon on Friday, when she will be taken to the church.
Hazel M. Smith was born on September 13, 1893 in Maple Grove, Saginaw county the daughter of Albert and Ellen Smith. She came to Beaverton with her parents at the age of seven and has been a resident there since. She was married to Clayton McKimmy on March 15, 1914 in Beaverton.
Surviving are her husband; four sons, Ronald, of Portland, Oregon, John, of Janesville, Wisconsin, Wilferd, of Syracuse, New York and Howard of Beaverton; seven daughters, Mrs. Mildred Bergman, Mrs. Helen Frye and Mrs. June Havens, all of Beaverton, Alice McKimmy, of San Francisco, California, Mrs. Margaret Pietras, of Saginaw, Mrs. Iola Whitehead, of Midland and Mrs. May Covey, of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Percy Smith, of Beaverton; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Wheeler, of Detroit; also 17 grandchildren.
