Ellis McKimmy
Ellis L. McKimmy, 73, of Beaverton City, died Monday, August 21, at the Clare Hospital following a long illness. A resident of Gladwin County since 1905, he was born in Metamora, Ohio, October 18, 1898. He was the owner and operator of the Beaverton Concrete Works from 1928 to 1958. Mr. McKimmy was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren and Beaverton Masonic Lodge. He and the former Velma Cochran were married July 3, 1927, in Beaverton. Surviving are his wife, Velma; two daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Berniece) Wood, and Mrs. John (Madonna) Ladner, all of Beaverton; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Witkovsky of Beaverton, and Mrs. Florence Peterson of Mt. Dora, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Services will be held at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton, with the Rev. Henry List officiating, and burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Masonic memorial services will be Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m.
