Charles McKimmy Sr.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home for Charles McKimmy, 78, of Scottville, who was killed instantly Wednesday evening, July 8, when he was struck by a car on US-10 in Scottville. The Rev. Randall Roose officiated and burial was in Hope Cemetery, Midland County.
A retired road construction and heavy equipment operator, he had lived in the Mason County area for the last 22 years. He was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren and the Eagles Club. Born on May 7, 1886, in Midland County, he was married to the former Teresa Dundas in 1912 in Beaverton.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, William, of Beaverton and Charles Jr., of Custer; two daughters, Mrs. George Page, of Farmington, and Mrs. Russell Ellison, of Southfield; four brothers, Jay, of Gladwin, Ottamar, of Beaverton, Edward, of Pontiac, and Leo, of Detroit; and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Yager, of Beaverton, and Mrs. Elva Norton, of Northville; 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
