DEATH RESULT FROM INJURIES IN WAR
The body of William Thomas McKenna, who died at Fort Bayard, New Mexico, Jan. 23, was
brought to Gladwin Monday night by train, and was taken to the home of Dr. A. O. Boulton,
where it lay in state until the funeral which took place at Sacred Heart church Wednesday
morning, the solemn requiem mass being celebrated by Rev. Father Van Colen. The church was
crowded to overflowing to do honor to the young soldier boy, who lost his life from injuries
and exposure sustained on the battlefields of the World War, in which he was wounded five
times and gassed once.
Father Van Colen delivered an eloquent address in which he paid high tribute to the patriotism
