John Mcdonald
Services are being held today for John A. (Jack) McDonald, 74, who died
Sunday forenoon, April 25, at Gladwin Area Hospital following an illness of several months.
A farmer, his home was at 269 Ridge Road, Gladwin. Born in Jackson, July 15, 1896, he was
married to the former Julia Milligan in 1943, in Armada, and moved to Gladwin County in 1944.
Mr. McDonald had formerly lived in Detroit and served in England with the Canadian army in World
War I, from 1914 to 1919.
Surviving are his wife, Julia; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen McMillan of Johnstown, Pa.; a son,
Robert McDonald of Gladwin; a step-son, John Louk of Lennon; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Pleiss of
Ferndale; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
The Rev. John Cermak officiated at the 11:00 a.m. services April 28 (today), at the Mathews
Funeral Home. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery.
