Max McColley
SOLDIER RITES SATURDAY
Military funeral services will be held for Sgt. Max W. McColley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
McColley, of St. Clair Shores, at the Reigle Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 12.
Burial will be in Ridge cemetery. Sermon and prayer service will be conducted by the Rev. H.
Schmidt of the Gladwin Free Methodist church. The Gladwin Post of the American Legion will assist
in the service.
Sgt. McColley was born in Gladwin township, June 2, 1921, and spent his early childhood here.
In 1934 he moved with his parents to St. Clair Shores, where he attended high school. He enlisted
in the service in October of 1942 and was killed in action at Metz, Germany, on Septmeber 14, 1944.
Surviving him are his parents; five brothers, Wayne, Clare, Donald, Lloyd and David, and three
sisters, Mildred, Mrs. Rosalee Carlson and Ardena. One sister, Elaine, died two years ago. Sgt.
McColley will lie in state at the Reigle Funeral Home from Thursday afternoon until the time of the
funeral.
