Walter Martin

WALTER MARTIN


  Walter Martin, 88, of 373 Estey Rd., Beaverton, died Sunday, Feb. 1, in the Gladwin Area Hospital following a short illness. Born in Berlin on April 12, 1892, he spent most of his life in Gladwin County and farmed. Mr. Martin was a member of the Albright Shores Assembly of God Church and a veteran of World War I. He and the former Isabelle Trumble were married April 15, 1925, in Beaverton. She preceded him in death on September 10, 1978.

  Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Paul (Mary) Offenbecker of Billings Township and Mrs. Melvin (Margaret) Freier of Gladwin; one son, John McGrath of Billings Township; 2 sisters, Mrs. Goldie McCrandell of Billings Township and Mrs. Mable Winn of Clare County; 6 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

  Services were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Fred Wilson officiated and burial was in the Billings Township Cemetery.
