Dixon J. Martin
Dixon J. Martin, 62, of Gladwin, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1996 at MidMichigan
Regional Medical Center - Midland following a short illness. Born Jan. 14, 1934 in Manistique,
he resided in Flint before coming to Gladwin. Mr. Martin was employed by G. M. Truck and Bus in
Flint until he retired in 1985 after 32 years of service. He married the former Marie Rogers Feb.
10, 1990.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Rick Martin and Randy Martin, both of Flint, and
Keith Martin of Bay City; one daughter, Michelle Martin of Flint; 5 step-children, Mark Matheny
of Charleston, W. Va., Jill Rice of Hurricane, W. Va., Lisa Hutchinson of Parkersburg, W. Va.,
Chris Hutchinson of Huntington, W. Va. and Mary Lynn Fizer of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister,
Phyllis Totten of Livonia; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and
nephews.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin chapel. The Rev. Donald
Haskell officiated and burial was in the McClure Cemetery, Gladwin. Those planning an expression of
sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
