Leo Malcomnson
A Prudenville man was killed early Tuesday morning when his car left M-18, 5 miles north of Gladwin, and crashed into a tree. He was Leo Luther Malcomnson, 70, a former Prudenville postmaster. It was the first fatality in Gladwin County this year. Malcomnson, alone in the vehicle, was apparently coming south on the highway when the crash happen. Sheriff Victor Edick, who investigated the accident, said Malcomnson may have fallen asleep.
The crash was found by Joseph Esline, of Gladwin, as he was passing and reported to the sheriff at 3:25 a.m. It is not known how long before the collision occurred. The body was brought to the Miner Chapel and later taken to Prudenville.
