Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Howard Malcomnson

   Howard R. Malcomnson, 75, of Freemont and formerly of Beaverton, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, in Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Monday. Born in Clare County Feb. 28, 1911, he farmed and taught school at Sanford-Meridian until retiring in 1973. Mr. Malcomnson graduated from Central Michigan University with a teaching degree and Michigan State University with a degree in counseling. He was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren and several teaching and counseling organizations.

   Mr. Malcomnson was married to the former Lois Malcomnson in September 1981, in Harrison. She preceded him in death in 1978 from injuries received in an auto accident. Surviving are on daughter, Mary Cotton of Grant; one son, John, of Davison; a brother, Frank Lininger of Dansville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A daughter, Ruth died after being hit by a car in 1948 and a son, Robert, died in a airplane crash in 1962.

   Rites will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Grant Reformed Church. Pastor David Brewer will officiate and burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Dale Cemetery. The McKinley Funeral Home in Grant is in charge of arrangements.
