Martha Maier

   Martha Maier, 94, of Beaverton passed away April 14, 2008 at Tender Care Nursing Home-Clare following a long illness.

   She was born in Hope, Michigan Oct. 6, 1913 to John and Bertha (Havens) of Maxwell.

   She was a bus driver for Beaverton Rural Schools for many years. She was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and a member of Beaverton Church of the Brethren in Beaverton.

   Martha married Anthony Maier Nov. 24, 1931 in Gladwin. He preceded her in death in 2001.

   She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Dale) Rawson of Farwell, Wanetta (Dean) Cochrane of Beaverton and Anna (Dick) Willette of Millington; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Don Maxwell of Midland, Bill Maxwell of Hope and Jim Maxwell of Beaverton. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Donna Lee Maier in 1938; son, Anthony Maier, Jr. in 1938; great-grandson, Robbie Cochrane; step-great-grandson, Andrew Tomkiewicz; three sisters and two brothers.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Beaverton Church of the Brethren in Beaverton with Pastor Henry List officiating. Friends may visit the family from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 and from noon-9 p.m. Thursday, April 17 at Hall- Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton.

   She will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
