Joseph Mahan
Joseph C. Mahan, 74, of Gladwin passed away Saturday, Sept. 24 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Joe was born Jan. 27, 1931 in Aldrich, Alabama to Horace and Ruby Honeycutt Mahan. He married the former Mildred Holmes on Oct. 22, 1965 in Houston, Texas. Joe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Daimler-Chrysler in 1989. They came to Gladwin in May 1995 and he was a member of Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church. Joe loved his hobby of woodworking which kept him very busy making furniture, cabinets, etc. for many and was well known for his talent. He was also past Master of the Warren Lodge of the Free and Accepted Mason, a member of the Shriners and was past President of the Coquina Gardens in Marco Island, Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Millie; two sons, Richard (Kathleen) Mahan of Almont and Randall Mahan of Eastpoint; and two grandchildren, Jason and Heather.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at the Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Alexander officiating.
Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled children. Sisson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
