John Louk
John Louk, 55, of 1470 N. M-30, Gladwin, died Sunday evening at the Midland
Hospital Center. Born in Romeo on October 16, 1927, he came to Gladwin County in 1943. Mr. Louk
was employed as a truck driver for a grocery store in Flint until retiring in 1975 because of
ill health. He served in the Army during World War II and was a life member of the VFW and a member
and past commander of the American Legion. He was married to the former Rose Parker on July 3, 1952,
in Mt. Morris.
Surviving besides his wife are, 2 sons, John and Allen at home; 2 daughters, Mrs. Rosemarie Richards
of Gladwin and Mrs. Ruthann Cameron, at home; his mother, Mrs. Jula McDonald of Gladwin; one sister,
Mrs. Mary McDonald of Lennon; 2 step-brothers, Ernest Parker of Flint and Daniel Parker of Smyrna,
Ga.; one step-sister, Mrs. Mary Elliot of Gladwin; and 3 grandchildren.
Services were held today Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the Mathews Funeral Home with Ed Jaynes officiating.
Graveside services in the Ridge Cemetery were in charge of the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303. A memorial
service was held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. by the American Legion Post.
