Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Marlin Longstreth

   Marlin J. "Mutt" Longstreth, 77 of Midland died Monday morning Nov. 20, 2006 at his home. He was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Flint the son of the late Russell and Mildred (Gwe) Longstreth. Marlin attended schools in Beaverton and graduated from Beaverton High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War delivering aircraft from the west coast to various staging areas.

   Upon his return he was employed 24 years with the Dow Chemical Company, retiring in 1982. Marlin was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 165 of Midland.

   He is survived by his wife Dorothy, whom he married June 27, 1953 in Midland; sons Michael (Michelle) Longstreth of Battle Creek and Steven (Lori) Longstreth of Midland; grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Justin, Kaylin, Kaylob, McKenzie, Lori Jo, Mike II, and Liberty; great grandchildren, Holiday, Amya, and Lindy; brothers and sisters, Russell (Christina) Longstreth of Midland, Ronald (Val) Longstreth of Beaverton, Jerry (Linda) Longstreth of Coleman, Mabel Evans of Beaverton, Velma (Robert) Hudson of Beaverton, Shirley (Richard) Swanton of Beaverton, and Rose (Robert) Hanks of Taylorville, Illinois.

   He was preceded in death by sons, Kevin J. and Robin. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 at the St. Brigid Catholic Church. Father James Wm. Bessert will officiate with rite of interment to follow in Midland Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

   Marlin’s family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until time of mass.
