S. J. LOGAN ENDS LIFE ---
OLD RESIDENT OF GLADWIN TOWNSHIP BLOWS HEAD OFF ---
DESPONDENT OVER BUSINESS TROUBLES --- SEEKS RELIEF BY SHOTGUN ROUTE
Sherman J. Logan, many years a resident of Gladwin
township, put an end to his own life Monday morning at
7 o'clock. He stepped outside his door and placed the
muzzle of a single barreled shotgun to his mouth and
pulled the trigger with his cane, the charge blowing
off his head. Mr. Logan had been despondent over
business troubles, to which his rash deed is
attributed. Last spring his house burned and other
difficulties had worried him until he sought relief by
ending his life. Mr. Logan was a G.A.R. man. He was
born in Ohio, and came to Gladwin county many years
ago. He leaves a wife, also daughter and sister. The
funeral was held Wednesday at the M. E. church,
Wagarville.
