Richard Locke
Richard G. Locke, 77, of Gladwin, formerly of Romeo, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 at his home.
Richard was born Nov. 5, 1930 in Detroit to Ray and Frances (DePlaunty) Locke. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Richard married the former Marlene Graybill Feb. 20, 1954 in Detroit.
He worked as an industrial engineer for Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1988. They came to Gladwin in 1993.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had served in the National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene; six children, Richard (Melanie) Locke of Rochester, Judith Pype of Capac, Frances (Chester) Locke-Gibson of Roseville, Renee (Charles) Carman of Gladwin, Myles (Barbara) Locke of Buford, Georgia, and David (Rebecca) Locke of Ferndale; 13 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Two brothers and one sister predecease Richard.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. Rev. Fr. John Cotter officiated. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
Sisson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
