Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Gayland Locke

   Gayland P. Locke, 76, of Beaverton died July 1, 2006 at home after a long illness.

   He was born June 7, 1930 to Rolland and Flossie (Gray) Locke of Midland. He was owner/operator of Locke Builders in Coleman and also the Coleman Restaurant.

   He retired as a custodian from Gladwin Community Schools. He resided in Gladwin County since moving from Coleman in 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korea conflict.

   He was a member of the Midland Eagles Aerie 3110; Coleman V.F.W.; American Legion and Gladwin Moose.

   He was married June 7, 1982 to Denise Becard in Coleman.

   Gayland is survived by his wife, Denise, of Beaverton; sons, Roy Locke of Florida and Joe Locke of Oregon; daughters, Tammy Barber of Shepherd; stepdaughter, Kelly and Mike Huss of Coleman; stepson Kevin Bruce, and friend Leah Oldham of Coleman; 15 grandchildren; sister, Thelma and Mike Pohoda of Midland, and brother, Clayton and Lhong-Mi Locke of Washington. He was predeceased by his parents and a son, Wyatt Locke.

   Funeral services are scheduled for July 5, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton. Pastor Dan Siedlecki will officiate. Visitation is July 5 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton. Memorials can be sent to Mi- Michigan Hospice or Pardee Cancer.
