Isaac Loar

   Isaac “Robert” Loar, 89, of Beaverton, died Dec. 29, 2004 at his home in Sheridan Township following a long illness.

   He was born Dec. 23, 1915 in Clare to John Leo and Grace (Cochran) Loar. He lived in Clare County most of his life. He married the former Catherine Jane in Detroit on Jan. 9, 1943; she died in 1996. Isaac was a machinist for Colt Industries of Clare, and then worked for Gladwin Manufacturing, retiring in 1981 after 15 years.

   Surviving him are his children, Darell (Sue) Loar of Farwell, Terry (Connie) Loar of Beaverton, Francis (Nancy) Loar of Clare, and Pamela (Joe) Loar-Perras of Beaverton; five grandchildren and many Great grandchildren; a brother, Basil Loar of Beaverton; three sisters, Donna Jean Brewer of Gladwin, Beulah Timmons of Beaverton, and Ruth Brown of Gladwin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife; his daughter, Pearline Joy Loar; grandson Francis Loar, Jr.; brothers Clinton, Leo, Wilbur, Willard and Clayton; sisters Gertrude Cingano, Zelma Loar and Mabel Newman; and his parents.

   Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 31 at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton with the Rev. Jim Walters officiating. Burial took place at Arthur Township Cemetery, Clare County. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
