Raymond Linton
Raymond C. Linton, 75, of Beaverton, formerly of Freeland, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan 28, 2007 at Select Specialty Hospital in Covenant HealthCare Harrison, Saginaw after a brief illness.
Raymond was born Dec. 18, 1931 in Levering, Michigan to the late David and Hilda (Keiser) Linton.
He has resided in this area all his life. Raymond was a member of Moose Lodge #456 in Estey, Fraternal Order of Eagles #3655 in Beaverton and Local 12075 U.S.W.A. in Midland Raymond was also an avid hunter and fisherman. As a young man, Raymond was a very dedicated weight lifter, who went to New York for an Olympic tryout In 1952, Raymond married Sally Lou Empey; she predeceased him on May 9, 1982 On Feb. 7, 1987, he married Marian Y. Longstreth; she survives him.
Raymond is also survived by 10 children, David (Linda) Linton of Beaverton, Mark Linton of Freeland, Diane Linton of Saginaw, Denise (Jamie) Spiegel of Rochester Hills, Susan (Rick) Downing of Greenup, Kentucky, Jeff (Jan) Stilley of Dallas, Georgia, Candace (Mike) Clason of Marietta, Georgia, Tom (Brenda) Stilley of Sarasota, Florida, Cheryl (Steve) Rogers of Midland, and Jill (Jeff) LaForge of Midland; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Vernon (Marna) Linton of Lansing. An infant son predeceased Raymond.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home in Freeland. Rev. Jaye A. Reisinger will officiate with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Freeland.
Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington, Freeland on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
