Phyllis Leavoy
Phyllis I. Leavoy, 81, of Gladwin died March 23, 2006 at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was born in Detroit on Feb. 28, 1925 to Wallace and Velma (McClure) Royce. She was a seamstress and teacher at Singer Sewing Machine Company in Troy. She lived in Gladwin County 16 years, having previously resided in Bloomfield Hills and Florida.
Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie (Robert) Klott of Gladwin; her Winter daughter, Linda Haight of Gladwin; her son, Kenneth (Shirley) Zuelch of Cincinnati, Ohio; her step-son, Clark (Sandy) Leavoy of Warren; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and three sisters, Eleanor Knier of Florida, Jaci (Philip) Pentz of Minnesota, and Shirley (Raymond) Bassett of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in 1990, and by her parents.
According to the wishes of the family, cremation has taken place. Arrangements were made by Hall Funeral Home of Gladwin and Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Springs Memorial Fund.
