Mary Laycock

SERVICES TUESDAY FOR MRS. LAYCOCK

   Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home here for Mrs. Fred Laycock, 66, of Gladwin, who passed away Saturday after a week's illness. The Rev. Erick Whiting, of St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiated, and burial was in Highland cemetery. Mary Louise Dawe was born on July 31, 1877, in Lifton, Devonshire, England. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Ann Barlett and William H. Dawe and came to America with her mother, sisters and brothers in June of 1889. She married Fred Laycock, of Gladwin, in 1904 and he preceded her in death in 1933.

   Surviving are three sons, William and Clarence Laycock, of Gladwin, alnd Sgt. Harold Laycock, who is stationed in New Guinea; a daughter, Elizabeth, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister, Miss Emily Dawe, of Gladwin; one grandchild and twelve nieces and nephews. Out-of-town relatives who were here for the funeral Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cardwell and daughter, Mary Grace, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Justin Atkinson, of Bay City; Mrs. Fred Bullock, of Saginaw; Mrs. Kate Wilson, Henry and Allen Wilson and Mrs. Elsie Hanggi, of Moore's Junction; Mrs. Harold Laycock, of Sturgis; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Paquette and son, of Mackinaw City; Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Burgess and family of Beaverton.
