Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Thomas Landon

   Thomas D. Landon, 71, of Boyne City, formerly of Beaverton, died early Monday, Sept. 12, 2005 at home.

   Thomas was born on Dec. 17, 1933 in Saginaw, the son of Willis C. and Violet M. (Methner) Landon. He went to Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Mid Michigan College and Central Michigan University. He was a member of Community of Christ in Boyne City. Thomas served in the U.S. Army and 15 years as a reservist. He loved the game of baseball. He was a great player for many years and went on to coach. Thomas coached little league right up until May of this year.

   He is survived by his loving wife Lenore; his children, Steven (Sherry) Landon, Terri (Henry) Sponsler, Shelley Landon and Krista Landon; and seven grandchildren and one Great grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents.   Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City and from 12-2 p.m. on Sept. 16 at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A funeral ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday following the visitation at the Stackus Funeral Home. A grave side service will be held Sept. 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay.
