Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Sammy Lamentola

   Sammy D. Lamentola, 53, of Beaverton, Michigan died March 13, 2006 at Mesa General Hospital in Mesa, Arizona following a sudden illness. He was born in Boiser City, Louisiana on Sept. 4, 1952 to Durell and Helen (Conway) Lamentola. He married the former Teri Jean Rechtermann in Atlanta, Michigan on July 23, 2003. He served in the U.S. Marines, and was a corrections officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections in Standish.

   He lived in Gladwin County since 1993, having previously resided in St. Louis, Michigan. Surviving him arewife, Teri, two sons, Christopher (Charity) Lamentola of St. Louis, Michigan and Timothy (Heather) Lamentola of Breckingridge; one daughter, Monica Lamentola of Taylor; two step-children, Mandy (Billy) Hunsaker and Jacob Wayne Hunsaker, both of Mesa, Arizona; his grandchildren, Jessica (Sammy Jo), Kegan, David, Alex, Taylor, Madison and Audrey; four brothers, Ronny (Pam) Lamentola, Larry (Donna) Lamentola, Gary (Annette) Lamentola, and Danny Lamentola; one sister, Suzy (Dave) Gadigan; one brother, Jason (Nancy) Lamentola; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Judy.

   A funeral service was held Saturday, March 18 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with pastor Ralph Sandifur officiating. Burial followed at Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton.
