Al Lambert
Al Lambert, 70, passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas on Dec. 11, 2004 of heart disease.
Al was born June 13, 1934 in Illinois to Owen and Leona (Crowder) Lambert. They moved to Grout Township in Gladwin County. He graduated from Gladwin High School in 1953 and married Beverly Joyce Allen of Gladwin. They had one daughter, Gloria Marie. Al joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954. In 1958, he and Elaine Marie Emrick were married in Gladwin. They had three children, Mark of Wiggins, Mississippi, Brian of D’Iberville, Mississippi and Rebecca Douglas of Yuma, Arizona. They had seven grandchildren, three Greatgrandchildren and several step grandchildren.
They kept in touch with Gladwin during their Air Force career with "Letters to the Editor" from all over the U.S. and Al’s tours in Japan and Korea. Al was honorably discharged in 1978 at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi after 20 years.
They retired in Biloxi, Mississippi and were divorced in 1984. Al worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Mississippi after retirement from the Air Force, installing radar systems on Navy ships. In 1985, Al married Barbara Graham in Wichita Falls, Texas and was "Poppa" to her three children, several step grandchildren, and step Great-grandchildren until the time of his death. Al was predeceased by his parents, his twin brother, Delbert, and his first daughter, Gloria Marie Roberson. He is survived by his brothers, Claude "Wes" of Gladwin and Dean of Dallas, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation took place in Wichita Falls, Texas.
