William Kyle
William R. Kyle, 77, of Gladwin, died suddenly Jan. 5, 2005 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin.
He was born Sept. 30, 1927 to William and Frances (Simpson) Kyle in Detroit. He worked as an industrial relations director at Valeron Corporation in Troy for 22 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He married Shirley Frechett on May 25, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He lived in Gladwin County for the past 18 years. He served for the past four years as treasurer for the Butman Township Fire Assosication. He was an active member of the Gladwin Eagles Aerie 3292. He enjoyed bowling, golf, reading, and outdoor wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Kyle; four sons, James (Cheryl) Kyle of Ann Arbor, John (Janis) Kyle of Troy, William (Karlyn) Kyle of Wildwood, Missouri, and David (Donna) Kyle of Marquette; a daughter, Barbara Levine of Southfield; a step-son, Daniel Smith of West Branch; a step-daughter, Kelley Milner of Sterling Heights; 17 grandchildren, James Kyle, Stefanie Kyle, Kimberly Kyle, Christen Kyle, Jacqueline Kyle, Jessica Levine, Jeremy Kyle, Travis Kyle, Allison Kyle, Natalie Kyle, Kevin Kyle, Christopher Kyle, Ryan Milner, Jason Milner, Adam Milner, Brittany Smith, and Brandon Smith; and two sisters, Frances (George) Moorman of Valley Station, Kentucky, and Margaret Bruning of Madison Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Kyle; and a son-in-law, Michael Levine.
Funeral services were held Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with Pastor Brad Withrow officiating. Visitation was on Jan. 8 from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Butman Township Fire Association or the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Gladwin.
