Madeleine
Madeleine Ivie Kraus, 4, of Gladwin passed away at home Wednesday, May 25, 2005 following a courageous battle with leukemia. Born Jan. 15, 2001 in Midland, Madie lived in Gladwin County all of her short life. Over the last year she spent a lot of time in and out of numerous treatments at the University of Michigan trying for a cure. In March she came home with a terminal diagnosis. With the help of hospice nurse Don, Madie enjoyed camping, fishing, and ATV and snowmobile riding.
Madie lived every day to the fullest and never complained. Surviving are her parents, Mark and Shasta Kraus of Gladwin; two sisters, Audre Kraus and Chloe Kraus, both of Gladwin; her grandparents, Stan and Edna Buzzell, and Victor and Jan Kraus, all of Gladwin; her Great grandparents, Jim and Dorothy Buzzell of Gladwin; Great-great grandparents, Myrte King of Beaverton and Alma Rau of Gladwin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service was held May 28 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. Sam Wilson officiated. Burial took place at Grout Township Cemetery in Gladwin.
