Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Karl Krahn

   Karl S. Krahn, 61, of Gladwin passed away at his home on Jan. 15, 2008 following a short illness.

   He was born in Detroit on Sept. 22, 1946 to Walter and Zuima (Evans) Krahn. He was a draftsman for Delfield Engineering. After retirement he took over the family farm.

   He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam Era. He had resided in Clare County most of his life, previously residing in Warren. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Church in Gladwin.

   Karl married Sharon Braley on March 12, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He previously married Karen Traynor on Sept. 23, 1969. She preceded him in death.

   He is survived by his wife, Sharon Krahn of Gladwin; two daughters, Kimberly (Daniel) Sturgis of Gladwin and Karla (Paul) Billinger of New Baltimore; one son, Karl Marc Krahn of Pontiac; three step-sons, Jeffrey (Lori) McDonald of Mills, Joseph (Jennifer) McDonald of Saginaw and Brian (Lara) McDonald of Lansing; 17 grandchildren;one brother, Walter (Nancy) Krahn of Detroit; one sister, Suzzane (Tom) Zeitel of Macomb; and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Karen.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin with Rev. Father John Cotter officiating. He will be laid to rest in Arthur Township Cemetery in Clare County. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin.

   There will be a special VFW service and wake service.
