Irvin Koehler
SATURDAY RITES FOR IRV KOEHLER
Irvin John Koehler, 47, was found in his Wooden Shoe Village home Tuesday, dead of a
gunshot wound. Coroner Donald Hall estimated death occured about 10 p.m. Monday evening.
He was co-owner, with his wife, of Irv & Kitty's Place in Gladwin. Mrs. Koehler had stayed
in Gladwin with friends Monday night after closing the bar. When her husband didn't appear
for work Tuesday and failed to answer the phone, an employee was sent to see if he was ill.
Born Nov. 17, 1920, in Pennslyvania, Mr. Koehler had been a resident of Gladwin County for
the past 12 years, coming from Detroit when they bought the business here. His parents were Mr.
and Mrs. Conrad Koehler. He and the former Clara Steele were married in Detroit June 18, 1949.
He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Clara; four brothers, Walter of
Naples, Fla., William, Henry and Fred, all Detroit; and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Karp, of Detroit.
Services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Highland Cemetery, Gladwin. Other
arrangements are incomplete at this time. Mr. Koehler is at the Hall Funeral Home.
