Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Daniel Knight

   Daniel H. Knight, 77, of Beaverton died Sept. 12, 2005 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin following a sudden illness. He was born Oct. 16, 1927 in Gladwin. He married the former Betty Swinson in Gladwin in December 1948.

   He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. He was a farmer, musician and worked as a pipefitter at Dow Chemical in Midland. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the International Order of Oddfellows in Gladwin and the National Farmers Organization. He was honored at the 2003 Michigan Steel Guitar Convention.

   He is survived by his children, Jack Knight of Phoeniz, Arizona, Sandra (Allen) Seckman of Beaverton, Harry (Connie) Knight of Clarksville, Georgia, Donald (Kristen) Knight of Maryville, Tennessee, and Sheryl (John) Williams of Palmer, Alaska; 11 grandchildren and 20 Great grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine Cassiday of Gladwin, Helen Walters of West Branch, and Geneva (Dottie) Elwood of Merrill; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David Lee in June 1959, his parents, and two brothers, Glenn and Jack.

   Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 440 E. Cedar Avenue in Gladwin.

   Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 15 from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
