RITES FRIDAY FOR LESLIE KITCHEN
Leslie Kitchen, 73, of Beaverton, died Monday following a long illness. A veteran of World War I, he was born on Dec. 20, 1888, near Coleman, and spent his lifetime in Gladwin County. He was married to the former Hulda Rockwood on Oct. 27, 1937, in Gladwin, and was a member of the Beaverton Methodist Church and American Legion Post No. 171, Beaverton.
Survivors include his wife, Hulda; two step-sons, Lyman Rockwood, of Cleveland, and Lawrence Rockwood, of Livonia; a step-daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Edick, of Gladwin; one sister, Mrs. Fleda Force, of Flint; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Beaverton Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gordon Showers officiating. Burial will be in Beaverton Cemetery with military services in charge of V.F.W. Post No. 7303, Beaverton. Friends may call at the Hall Funeral Home.
