Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Robert Kirbitz

   Robert M. Kirbitz, 71, of Gladwin, died April 17, 2006. He was born Jan. 14, 1935 in Flint. He moved to Gladwin in 2001 from Burton after retiring from General Motors where he spent 42 years as a welder and a member of Local 659. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

   He married Orpha Kirbitz in 1959. She predeceased him in 1998. He later married Cora Kirbitz.

   He is survived by his wife, daughter Valerie (Greg) Wood of Gladwin; sons Robert (Tammy) Kirbitz II of Gladwin, John (Misty) Kirbitz of Gladwin, Anthony (Anne) Kirbitz of Gladwin; grandchildren: Gregory Wood II, Matt Wood, Mason, Robbie, Derrick, Kaila, Tony “Bubba,” and Haylee Kirbitz; Great-grandson, Ethan Wood; sisters, Shirley Moomey of Midland, Carolyn (Tim) MacDormott of Gladwin, Jacquline (Tom) Banta of Harrison; brothers Kenneth (Esther) Kirbitz of Stafford, Virginia, and Randy Kirbitz of Houghton Lake, and several nieces and nephews.

   He was predeceased by his wife, Cora, parents, sister: Dorrene Bain; and stepfather, Everette Yonts.

   Funeral services are scheduled for April 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with Pastor Brad Withrow officiating. Visitation is scheduled for April 19 from 4-9 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin.

   He will be buried at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris.
