Carl Kinkel


   CARL G. KINKEL (7 JUNE 1922 - 24 OCT 1994)

   Carl G. Kinkel, 72 of Beaverton, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Oct. 27, 1994, at his residence.

   He was born June 7, 1922, in Laporte, son of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Kratz) Kinkel. Mr. Kinkel was a life-long resident of Midland County. He married the former Onalee V. Price on Jan. 29, 1942, and she predeceased him on Feb. 19, 1993. He worked for over forty years for The Dow Chemical Co. in research and development, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Albright Shores Eagles Lodge No. 1610.

   He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Geoffrey and Connie Kinkel of Beaverton; one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Joseph Crossland of Madisonville, Tenn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law Christine and Clarence "Fritz" Schlader, Elizabeth and Clement Ostrander all of Laporte; five grandchildren, LaShawn, Devinee, Jolene, Rhonda and Geoffrey Charles; one great grandson, Travis John; and by his faithful companion, Babe.

   Funeral services for Mr. Kinkel will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1994, at the Ware-Smith-Woolever & Company Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St., with military honors under the auspices of the Midland V.F.W. Post No. 3651. The Rev. Wallace H. Mayton of Memorial Presbyterian Church will officiate with burial in Billings Township Cemetery. Mr. Kinkel's family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
