Giles S. Kerswill
G. S. Kerswill Dies Tuesday in Grout Twp.
Funeral services will be held at the West Grout Methodist Episcopal Church friday afternoon a 2 o'clock for Giles S. Kerswill conducted by Rev. Karl H. Keefer. Burial will be at Highland cemetery
Born July 8, 1858, in Middlesex county, Ontario, he married Miss Mary A. Conkey November 8, 1884. Mr. and Mrs. Kerswill lived on a farm in Strathry, Ontario until they came to Gladwin county, Michigan, and located on a farm in Grout township which has since been his home. Mrs. Kerswill died in April, 1933. One daughter died in infancy.
He was always interested in the affairs of his township and an active worker for betterment. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a master of the Gourt Grange and chief gleaner of the Royal Arbor several years.
Surviving him are two sons, Lyman dna Harry, two grandsons, Lewis and Kenneth, his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lyman Kerswill, all of Grout township; and one brother, Charles Kerswill of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
