Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
Ernest Kent

   Ernest C. Kent of Montrose, 72, formerly of Clio, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at his residence.

   Ernie was born March 22, 1935 in Isabella County to the late Charles and Louise (Hossington) Kent.

   He had resided in the Montrose area the past five years moving from Clio.

   Ernie married Donna Mae Farrow on Nov. 1, 1958 He was a Flint Rigger, Machinery Erector Iron Worker for 32 years and dearly loved his job. He retired to their family cottage in Standish and fished the great waters and hunted at their property in Isabella County Ernie taught his three sons the sports of hunting, fishing and mushroom picking, always having to play poker at deer camp. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and camping at the annual Kent family reunions.

   Ernie is survived by his wife, Donna; three sons, David Kent and Denise, Dennis Kent and Kim, and Daniel (Sherry) Kent; grandchildren, Crystal, Amber (Barry) Jover, Alisha, Kara, Kyle, Rachael and Renae; siblings, Garey (Sheryl) Kent, Bruce (Evelyn) Kent, Luanagene Stewart, Joyce (Bob) Myers, Donna (Ron) Land, Casey Hatch; many nieces and nephews; and special sister-in-law, LaVel (Bill) Smith. Ernie was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Hatch; brothers-in-law, John Stewart and Robert Farrow.

   Funeral services were held Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio with Rev. Dale Woods Jr. officiating Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family for Barretts Esophagus Fund. A special thanks to Dr. Sahouri and staff, Dr Forstall and staff, McLaren Hospital IV Team and McLaren Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
