Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Eula Jurgensen

   Eula A. Jurgensen, 90, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Center. She was born on Feb. 11, 1916 in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Ben and Orpha Delle (Wilbraham) Johnson.

   She married John Jurgensen on April 14, 1939 in Dowagiac. She graduated from Dowagiac High School and attended Western Michigan University, which was referred to then as Western State Teachers College. She was a retired bank teller, and she loved to paint. Eula was a member of Gladwin Free Methodist Church.

   She is survived by her husband, John; four children, Michael (Marsha) Jurgensen of Kingsley, Janice (James) Decker of Starvation Lake, Michigan, John (Jean) Jurgensen of Gladwin, and Melissa (Gerry) Cholger of Traverse City; grandchildren and Great-grandchildren, Mike and Linda Jurgensen and Dylan, Josh and Logan of Granger, Indiana, Shawn and Deanna Jurgensen and Samantha and Shawn of Traverse City, Tobin and Carolyn Decker and Spencer and Scott of Indianapolis, Mathias and Krystin Decker of Indianapolis, John and Lynette Jurgensen of Grand Rapids, Katie and Jonathon Ruse and Ellaina and Benjamin of New Era, Michigan, Cathy and Dave Sommerfield and Nicholas of Traverse City, Tami and Paul Roeske and Marissa and Jared of Traverse City, and David and Dankel Cholger of Traverse City; one brother, Lynn and Evelyn Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Jane Anne Billings. She was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Letha Paxton; and a brother, Kenneth Johnson.

   Memorial services were on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at Gladwin Free Methodist Church with Pastor Phillip Hortop officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Gladwin Free Methodist Mission Fund. The Sisson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
