Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Robert James

   Robert C. James, 79, of Gladwin passed away Jan. 31, 2005 at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1925 in Flint to Charles and Delia O’Conner James. Robert married the former Florence Novak on July 6, 1946 in Flint. Robert worked for General Motors, retiring in 1975, and moved to Gladwin. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a devoted volunteer to the Mission food pantry, giving of time, labor and food for the shelves. He loved his family, especially the babies. Robert loved to hunt and fish. He was a veteran of WWII serving in both Atlantic and Pacific theaters, and a member of Post 11256.

   Surviving are his wife, Florence; sons Kenneth (Linda) James of Swartz Creek, Robert (Linda) James, Jr. of Colorado, Paul James of Beaverton, Steven (Mary) James of Gladwin and Gerald James of Ypsilanti; daughter Janet (Terry) Myerson of Phoenix, Arizona; 17 grandchildren and three Great grandchildren; brothers Tom of Grovetown, Georgia, Dave of Tawas, and Larry of Santa Maria, California; one sister, Mary Schrader of San Clemente, California; and brothers-in-law Floyd Novak of Swartz Creek and Harry Novak of Higgins Lake. Two sons, John and Richard, predecease Robert.

   Services will held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will officiate. Friends may call at Sisson Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry.
