Jan Jacob
Jan L. Jacob, Sr., 67, of Gladwin, Michigan, died March 18, 2005 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin after a short illness. He was born in Saginaw on May 8, 1937 to Carl and Alyce (Knezek) Jacob. He served as a mechanic for the United States Air Force and Clerk for the United States Postal Service in Gladwin. He lived in Gladwin County since 1991, having previously lived in Half Moon Bay, California.
Surviving are his daughter, Laurie Smith of Texas; two sons, Jan Jacob, Jr. and Robert Jacob, both of Texas; four grandchildren and several Great grandchildren; his mother, Alyce Jacob of Saginaw; his brother Larry (Judy) Jacob of Saginaw; his sister Shari (Ron) Gardener of Saginaw; his brother Jeffrey (Kim) Jacob, also of Saginaw; his sister-in-law, Barb (John) Klein of Saginaw; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Brenda Broka of Gladwin, and Janelle Hermanson of Bay City. He was predeceased by his father, Carl Jacob, and his brother, Randy Jacob.
Funeral services were held March 22 at W.L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel in Saginaw. Burial took place at Roselawn Cemetery in Saginaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Gladwin High School Athletic Association.
